I called apple support all u do is connect it iPod/iPhone to iTunes. Then locate you main panel on iTunes(usually right side) find the name of it iPod. Click and locate the "restore Button" click on it it will check for software updates and restore it to factory settings. Also sync your iPod before this and all your paid for music will transfer to iTunes and be saved! After this do not touch the iPod or laptop/desktop and be sure to plug in your laptop/desktop to a power source so it wont go dead also last thing Do not under any curmunstances disconnect your iPod because it will not restore it!! Hope I helped!! :))

My computer does not recongize when my ipod is plugged in nor does my itunes. The only file that comes up when my ipod is plugged in is how much storage i have left. It does not show an ipod available on my itunes either. I have an ipod touch

Hey, I'd just like to say that even when your iPod is all screwed up you can back all the music up onto your computer by going into your ipod -> Music -> F0,F1,F2,F3,F4,F5 (contains all the music), back all those folders up to another folder and restore, then go back to those folders and stick them in
